In today’s version of the duty-free price comparison, we’ll be taking a look at Amazon’s latest device – the Kindle. Having gained massive popularity in it’s previous iterations, it’s now the most popular e-reader out there. The 4th edition means it’s smaller than ever before with better battery life. The reduction in size is done by the loss of the keyboard (which most people didn’t use anyway), and this gives the same screen size. Often there are some discounts in airports so we’ll show you just how much you can save. Dixons Travel also price match against John Lewis, Amazon and Comet so we’ll also show you these prices to help you decide:

The airport price for the Amazon Kindle 4th Edition is £79. How does this compare to the other retailers:

Amazon: £89 including free shipping.
John Lewis: £89 including free 2 year warranty.
Comet: £89 with free delivery.

Verdict:  It seems there is definite price parity in shops over this new version which makes the £10 discount on offer by getting it in at the airport a good saving. With the packaging on the product being very small and light, it is also a decent one to buy as a gift – seeing as it’s pretty difficult to use straightaway anyway. This kind of product is likely to be highly sought after so it’s worth booking in advance if you wish to guarantee yours when you travel.
